Beauty and the Beast was a 1987 - 1990 American fantasy series that aired on the CBS television network. Loosely based on the 1740 fairy tale by French author Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve, it centered on the relationship between Catherine (Linda Hamilton), a New York City lawyer, and Vincent (Ron Perlman), a gentle man-beast who lives in the tunnels beneath the city.

Dark Spirit (Season 1, Episode 9)[edit | edit source]

A voodoo cult targets several important New Yorkers, including Catherine. She is drugged and hypnotized into offering herself as a sacrifice to the cult, unless Vincent can save her in time.
