Bram Stoker's Van Helsing is a 2021 independent horror film written and directed by Steve Lawson, and starring Mark Topping, Charlie Bond and Tom Hendryk. It is based on the 1897 Bram Stoker novel 'Dracula," told from the point of view of the character Abraham Van Helsing.

Plot[edit | edit source]

When the beautiful Lucy Westenra (Charlie Bond) becomes ill, no one can provide her fiancé Arthur Holmwood (Tom Hendryk) with a convincing diagnosis or cure. Lucy's condition worsens, prompting Arthur to ask his mentor Van Helsing (Mark Topping) for help. Van Helsing knows the legends of vampires and believes that Lucy may be the victim of one. Under hypnosis, Lucy confirms that she has been visited and mesmerized by a mysterious stranger.

As in the 1897 novel, Arthur and Van Helsing are unable to protect Lucy from Dracula or to prevent her from dying. When she is reborn as a bloodthirsty vampire, Arthur is forced to hunt her down and kill her again.
