Circus of the Stars was a 1977-1994 American television special that typically aired once per year on the CBS network. It was a variety show in which television and movie stars would perform circus-type acts and stunts.

Emma Samms, a star of the ABC television series Dynasty, joined John Byron on stage for a levitation act. But Emma isn't quite sure how this trick will be performed, since she's certain that she can't be hypnotized.

  • Still, he requests her to go along and starts talking to her: "Close your eyes, relax.."

  • Unable to be hypnotized initially, she turns around and says "Is that it?.."

  • "Relax.." Emma's arms begin to drop slowly to her side as she obeys.

  • "Because I command you to do so..." Emma listens to his instructions and stares blankly ahead.

  • "Raise your arms..." And she complies

  • She lays her down on a bench.

  • "Rise.." And her body starts to levitate.

  • He demonstrates with a large ring that she is indeed levitating.
