Denji Sentai Megaranger

Denji Sentai Megaranger (電磁戦隊メガレンジャー Denji Sentai Megarenjā, translated into English as Electromagnetic Squadron Megaranger) was Toei Company's 21st production of the Super Sentai television series. Its motif was cyberspace and digital technology, both of which were considered revolutionary concepts during its premiere. it joined B-Robo Kabutack. The footage was used in the American series, Power Rangers in Space.

Plot[edit | edit source]

Kenta Date, a young high school student, is the champion of an arcade video-game known as "Megaranger". Due to his skills and abilities, the I.N.E.T. company brings him in to use his skills and abilities in a top-secret project tied to the Megaranger game. At the same moment as he is brought in, four other students of the "Digital Research Club" at Moroboshi High School (the same high school Kenta was attending) likewise appear at the company, investigating the mysterious research being done by the scientists at the facility. However, as the five are within the facility, a pre-emptive attack begins from the evil Nezirejia, an evil dimensional force lead by Dr. Hinelar under Electro-King Javious I with plans of conquering this reality.

Dr. Kubota, INET chief, then reveals the truth to Kenta and friends: Megaranger was not a video-game, but actually a combat simulator that had been designed to find the recruits with the potential to become a super fighting team to strike against the Nezireija. As the twisted invaders destroy the base, Kubota gives Kenta and his friends special devices known as Digitizers. By entering the key-code 335 and shouting "Install, Megaranger!", Kenta, Kouichirou, Shun, Chisato and Miku, become the fighting team known as Denji Sentai Megaranger with the ability to fight back against Neziregia.

Ep. 4: Smash it! Shibolena's Trap[edit | edit source]

Kouichirou discovers Shibolena performing infiltrations through the internet, forcing him in a situation where the other Megaranger may be rushing into combat without his help.

Ep. 15: See Through It! The Mecha of Genius High[edit | edit source]

Shun is called by a friend attending a gifted high school to investigate their digital research club, who are mysteriously building a weapon for Nejiregia.

The physics teacher serves as a red herring...
as he does experiments...
and then runs away
Soichi invites Shun to check out the digital research club
Everything seems normal at first...
as the member work on and work out problems
Shun sits down at a computer
and begins to see the owl image appearing
Shun tries to alert Soichi about the owl image
The lights in the room go dark...
Fukuro Nejire appears and orders them to work...
for the benefit of Nejirejia
Fukuro Nejire lets loose his hypnotic gaze...
and the members begin to work...
"For the benefit of Nejirejia"
They begin building the digital tank
Shun is able to break Soichi from Fukuro Nejire's control
The two see the physics teacher heading to the annex...
and follow after him and see the digital tank being made real
Shun accuses the teacher of being Fukuro Nejire in disguise...
until he's thrown to the ground; the teacher says Soichi is Fukuro Nejire
Shun (appears to) come under Fukuro Nejire's control...
and begin to work on the digital tank
Soichi is revealed to be...
possessed by Fukuro Nejire
Fukuro Nejire reveals that anyone who sees his image comes under his control
The physics teacher is of no use to Fukuro Nejire...
he hits the teacher with his beam...
and knocks him unconscious
Shun and the club continue working on the digital tank
Shun continues working when the other Rangers arrive
The club continues to work on the tank...
the control image of Fukuro Nejire is destroyed...
and the club members are freed

Ep. 30: Full Throttle! The Friendship Combination[edit | edit source]

Kenta and Shun's teamwork connection becomes endangered when Shun loses his memory against a desperate Guirail.

Ep. 37: Why? Chisato's Old Man's Voice[edit | edit source]

A jealous Psycho-Nejirar switches Chisato's voice with it's own just as she needs it for a singing competition.

Ep. 45: Tenacious! Hinelar's Counterattack[edit | edit source]

As Kenta begins to worry about surviving his last exams, Dr. Hinelar uses Javious' remains to create a new city where he brings in humanity to serve him.

The Super Infinite Ability Development Seminar bus comes around...
and stops to spread the word
Shintaro thinks it sounds cool while Jiro... not so much
Shibolena, in human guise, says that the seminar will help people
A young man explains that he's failed the entrance exams several times...
and asks if the seminar will really help him
Shibolena says that one hour of the seminar will guarantee him success
Shintaro runs to make the bus after hearing the pitches made
Shintaro is the last person to board the bus
The bus departs with Shintaro and everyone on board
Shintaro enters the make-up test late after "attending" the seminar
Kenta is puzzled by what's happened to Shintaro
Shintaro takes...
and completes the test rather quickly
The teacher comes to check Shintaro's work...
and to his surprise Shintaro scores 100 on the test
Shintaro cracks a wry smile at the result
Three female classmates approach Shintaro about his success on the test
Shintaro tells them that if they want to be like him to follow him...
They follow after him
Shintaro leads them back to the large classroom...
crosses his arms...
and fires needles at them...
which place the control clips on the students...
bringing them under control like him
Shintaro and the girls leave the room
turn the corner...
and encounter three classmates on the stairs
One classmate asks if Shintaro is ok as he doesn't look too well
Shintaro and the girls cross their arms...
and fire their needles...
to bring the boys under control
Shintaro and his fellow controlled students all enter the seminar bus
Kenta runs after Shintaro and the other students
The door closes behind Kenta trapping him in the bus
The bus is actually a passageway that Shintaro and the others are going through
Kenta starts to go up the passageway...
but is stopped...
by Togebari Nejire, the source of the control needles and clips
Togebari fires his needles at Kenta...
to bring him under his control
Kenta is thrown back against the wall...
and then stands up with the clip now on his ear
Kenta is told he is ready and should go into Hinnelar City
Kenta follows the command...
and heads into Hinnelar City
Dr. Hinnelar's army brings people into the city by force
Shibolena explains that the clipped human will be digitized and give up their human form
"Dr. Hinnelar!!"
Dr. Hinnelar!!"
The clipped human develop an upgraded army for Dr. Hinnelar
Kenta steps forward...
and asks what the Rangers are doing
and gets backed up by Shintaro
Kenta...
and Shintaro are armed for a fight...
Kenta and Shintaro begin their attack
"Obey Dr. Hinnelar!!"
"Obey Dr. Hinnelar!!"
Shun see that the ear clip is controlling Kenta
Jiro asks Shintaro to attack him and not Miku...
Shintaro grabs Jiro...
yells, "Obey Dr. Hinnelar!!"...
and knees Jiro
Shun and Kenta grapple on the ground...
Shun is able to restrain Kenta...
and tells the other Rangers to shoot the ear clip
They fire on Shintaro's ear clip
the ear clip falls off...
Shintaro collapses once the clip is off
Kenta is shocked to see the Rangers once he is freed
