Ghost (Dark Horse Comics)
Ghost is an American comic book series published by Dark Horse Comics about a young woman with ghost-like powers. She undertakes a quest to uncover who murdered her, and why, only to learn more about herself- and her powers- than she ever imagined. First introduced in 1993, the character received her own title in 1995, and also appeared in various cross-over publications.
Descent (Volume 1, Issue 10)[edit | edit source]
Elisa's sister Margo falls under the mind control of Archibald Scythe, the same sleazy cult leader who brainwashed Elisa before she became Ghost.
Crack in the Wall (Volume 1, Issue 11)[edit | edit source]
Ghost's attempt to rescue Margo fails. Instead, she falls back under Scythe's control. But a long-lost friend locked away inside her mind- and her past- may hold the key to her escape.
Battleground (Volume 1, Issue 12)[edit | edit source]
Ghost recalls the time when, as Elisa, she first fell under Scythe's control. In the present, a superheroine group known as The Furies attempts a rescue, only to succumb to Scythe as well. Their salvation comes from an unlikely source, and at a terrible cost.
Stare at the Sun, Part 3 (Volume 2, Issue 6)[edit | edit source]
Ghost is reunited with cult leader Archibald Scythe, who himself has been possessed by Cameron Nemo, Elisa's childhood demon friend. Archibald, under Cameron's influence, is back to expanding his harem of mesmerized women, including Elisa's friend Concordia Leveche. Luckily for Ghost, her sister Margo now shares her ghost-like powers and quietly uses them to possess Concordia, giving the heroes a sleeper agent hidden right in plain sight.
Shifter, Part 4 (Volume 2, Issue 10)[edit | edit source]
Ghost pays a visit to the God-like being Vortex, who offers to 'fix' her thoughts. "Combing through tangles and untying knots," he allows her to remember more of her past, including her membership with The Furies, her subsequent infiltration of Scythe's cult, and her time spent as Scythe's brainwashed slave.
