Kung Fu: The Legend Continues

From Mental Block

Kung Fu: The Legend Continues was a 1993-1997 American television series. Designed as a sequel to the 1972-1975 television series Kung Fu, it followed the adventures of Shaolin priest Kwai Chang Caine (David Carradine) and his police detective son Peter (Chris Potter).

Magic Trick (Season 2, Episode 14)[edit | edit source]

Peter investigates a series of murders of young women, all of whom emptied their bank accounts and experienced a sharp change in behavior just before their deaths. Peter and Caine visit a nightclub frequented by the most recent victim, where an evil magician named Diablo the Deceiver (Stephen McHattie) hypnotizes a young woman named Devon (Nancy Ann Sakovich). Diablo secretly gives Devon a post-hypnotic suggestion to always obey the sound of his voice before conducting his magic act.

Like the other women, Devon's personality changes as she falls under Diablo's spell. Posing as a magician, Caine brings her onstage as part of his act and tries to snap her out of her trance, but Diablo is in the audience and foils the plan. When Peter discovers that Devon has withdrawn all of her money from her bank, he and Caine race to the club to save her from becoming Diablo's next victim.
