Max Steel (2013)

From Mental Block

Max Steel is a 2013 - 2014 American animated superhero series that aired on cable channel Disney XD (for Season 1) and the streaming service Netflix (Season 2). It was immediately followed by seven "films," two-part episodes, that aired on Cartoon Network between 2015 and 2017. Like the 2000 series of the same name, it is based on the 'Max Steel' line of action figures developed and produced for Mattel, and was designed to emulate the popular James Bond movie franchise (but with content appropriate for younger children).

Unlike the 2000 series, where the main protagonist is a 19-year-old extreme sports star, the 2013 reboot of Max Steel centers around a 16-year-old teen named Maxwell McGrath (voiced by Andrew Francis), who discovers that he has latent superpowers and is subsequently taken to a top-secret organization known as N-Tek. There, he bonds with an ultralink named N'Barro Aksteel X377, or 'Steel' for short. The two are able to link together to form 'Max Steel,' using their combined abilities and resources to fight evil.

The change in characters, and the reboot of the series, coincided with Mattel's decision to revamp and relaunch the 'Max Steel' toy line.

Split Decisions (Season 1, Episode 22)[edit | edit source]

When the Elementors can't stop arguing with themselves, they settle their differences by splitting up and hunting for Max Steel. Meanwhile, Steel hypnotizes Berto so he and Max can gain information about N-Tek's top secret files, but they later find out he doesn't have any secrets. During his fight with the four Elementors, Max Steel use a new Turbo Cannon Mode to defeat them, causing them to retreat. Steel then apologizes to Berto, who regained his conscience. Back to Dredd's base, the Elementors agree to fuse themselves together into Ultimate Elementor once again due to the fact their hatred for each other and for Max Steel has increased more while they're separated.
