Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World is a 2010 comedy-action-romance directed by Edgar Wright and based off of the Oni Press comic series created by Bryan Lee O'Malley. When he becomes smitten with the mysterious Ramona Flowers, 23 year old slacker Scott Pilgrim must face her seven exe boyfriends-and his own emotional issues- to be with her.

Towards the end of the film, Ramona goes back to Gideon Graves, her exe boyfriend before Scott. When Scott dies at Gideon's hands, she reveals that Gideon hsa placed her under his control using a mind control chip.
